Here's a bit of a rundown of all the events that take place on a weekly basis:
Equip
Wednesdays @ 5:30pm
Every Wednesday the CU gathers together for our ‘Equip’ meeting. These usually consist of prayer, notices, sung worship led by CU members and a short talk from the Bible, given by one of the many supporters of our CU.
Throughout the term we also have a number of Prayer and Praise sessions. In these, there isn't a talk but instead more time to worship God and to pray for campus and the rest of the world.
For more information on when and where Equip his held this week, check out the dedicated page in "This Week" section of the website.
Globe Cafe
Fridays @ 5pm
Globe International Cafe takes place every Friday in the Chaplaincy. It runs from 5pm-7pm and people are free to come and go as they please. It is a very chilled and informal place to meet new people (both international and British students) and make new friends. There are refreshments and themed activities each week - games, quizzes, presentations etc. as well as a chance to find out more about Christianity. We also offer a small group (International Bible Study) or one-to-one Bible study for international students who want to investigate Christianity further.
If you are an international student we’d love to see you at Globe so please come along any Friday evening! For more information email Francesca at globe@warwickcu.org or visit the Globe facebook group.
International Bible Study
Tuesdays @ 7.30pm
Interested in the Bible? Are you an International? If they are 'Yes-es', then come along to our International Bible Study! We are a group of international students from all over the world interested in finding out what the Bible is all about. A safe and friendly environment of international students allows us all to find out about this 'foreign' yet wonderful belief. During the term, we also organise activities outside of university. After all, this is what international students like to do when we're in a foreign land.....explore!!
For more information email Jessica at int.bible.study@warwickcu.org or come along to the our weekly Globe Cafe on Friday and ask one of us!
Lunchbar
Tuesdays @ 12noon and 1pm
Every Tuesday the CU offers a free lunch to everyone on campus and a short talk on a contemporary issue. The lunchbar runs from 12noon-1pm, with a second session from 1pm-2pm, in the Chaplaincy with people meeting at 10.30am to set up and pray. To find out more or get involved email Daniel Mak/David Clemo (lunchbar@warwickcu.org).
Hot Chocolate
Fridays @ 11pm
This project is all about serving students on campus and showing them the love that God has for them. We give out hot chocolate and biscuits to anyone coming out of the Copper Rooms on Friday Night, between 11pm and 2am(ish).
The best way in which we serve others is by sharing with them the good news - that Jesus is alive and that he loves them and knows them, and wants them to know him! We attempt to engage with and challenge people in a non-threatening way, and we often find people to be very responsive and have seen some amazing things happen.
We meet at 11pm in the Chaplaincy in central campus to focus on God through worship and prayer, as well as to have a laugh, drink tea and encourage and support each other. Join the Warwick Hot Chocolate Facebook group for more info!
Text a Toastie
Thursdays @ 7.30pm
Last year we ran the first ever Text a Toastie event across every Hall at the same time. This involved getting people to text in to the TAT team requesting a flavour of toastie, and with a question about Christianity. The toastie was then delivered and the question answered.
This year we're aiming to run this every week in a different halls on Thursday Evening. For more information the Text a Toastie Facebook page is always useful!
