Overview of the Year
Discover some of the things we get up to throughout the year!
Welcome week is Warwick’s version of Fresher’s week, and 2018 is the first year that it will be a separate week before term even starts! Over arrivals weekend we are out on the piazza so come and say hello! We put on loads of events, from acoustic nights and comedy nights to bring a mate along to, to a new to CU evening, a church search event and lunchbars looking at the big questions about life and Christianity.
Weekend Away is a chance to get away from Uni in term 1 with the whole CU for loads of fun, teaching to equip us to live and speak for Jesus and a chance to build relationships with other people in the CU! We stay in a beautiful manor house in Shropshire, and are joined by Northampton and Coventry too! It’s one not to be missed!
The Carol Concert is one of the most attended of our events in the year, a great way to round off the term and get in the festive mood. We explore the real meaning of Christmas and sing along to our favourite carols, accompanied by the finest of Warwick’s musical talent. Oh, and free mince pies!
Wonder - Our Week of Events
This is the climax of the whole year at Warwick CU. Wonder is a week of free events in the middle of term 2, that the CU puts on to give every student the chance to hear and respond to the Good News of Jesus. With up to 200 people each lunchtime and 400 each evening split across out international dinner and evening cafe with live entertainment, so it’s all hands on deck and everyone in CU comes together to help out! This year saw the Wonder Tent taking over the Oculus Green, it really was unmissable!
Barbecoustic is our chilled out summer BBQ & acoustic music event where we share the good news of Jesus with people on campus. After exams are behind us it’s a great event to come to with friends and bask in the summer sun!
At the very end of the year, Formal is a chance to get all dressed up, have some fun and reflect on the past year.
